The issue is you gonna need it. Sounds like you need atleast 4.56s, that's according to my little researching.

Backspacing... most JK specific websites recommend 4.5" max, which I have. My tires are 285/75-16 (33x11.50). They stick out beyond the fender flares at the sidewall 2.25" on the front, and by 1.25" in the rear. I had to trim the fake plastic air dam below the bumper so the tires would not rub in a full lock turn. With a 2.0" RE coil spacer lift and RE monotube shocks, there is no rubbing on the fenders.

This is the best I could do to give you and idea what 33's with 4.5" of backspace looks like....

Gearing... with 35's you will definitely want to re gear and go lower. Assuming your Rubicon has 4.10 gears, if you go from 4.10 to 4.56 it will not be all that noticeable to justify the cost, especially if you have an auto.

I have a manual. With 33's I went from 3.21 to 4.56 to get into the blue (the performance side of things). I couldn't be happier with on an off road performance. It is a very good compromise. The difference is like between day and night. Expensive, but money well spent.

Finally decided on what wheels I liked.

Wheels are V-Tech 17X8.5 - 0 offset
Tires are Nitto Grappler 285/75-17 (Just about 33")

0 offset pushed them out about 1.75" from stock. I thought the tech said the backspacing was 4.5 but that might have been another rim I was looking at.

the 8.5" is a section width reading of what the rim actually measures from inside of the lips. the fill width of the rim is about an inch wider(9.5")....so 0mm offset would be 4.75" BS and FS
