2002 Liberty 4 WD

Hi Guys. Bought a 2002 Liberty Sport for my daughter a few years back. Last winter I was moving the liberty out of the snow covered driveway and was having some trouble. I pulled the 4wd lever and backed on out. When I got to the street and drove around the block, I noticed I was not in 4wd anymore. Back wheels were spinning only. 4wd light on the dash was still on. So the 4wd light is accurate on the dash for full and part time, however I have no 4wd. Please help.

Could be a linkage issue unless it is electric then it could be a module or relay.
