Hi everyone! I was a Jeep fan for a long time and had a lot of fun with my YJ back at school. After that I finally returned to a jeep and got myself a 1995 XJ model in a pretty good condition. Looking to make it look like a real 4x4 and I think I am ready for bigger tires and lift. So I want 31-32 tires on some steel comp rims. What I've been reading online, is that I need a 3" lift kit, so I was going to ask it's the right direction and would 2" be to short to clear tires? I am looking at this kit: https://www.carid.com/1995-jeep-cherokee-suspension-systems/skyjacker-sport-lift-kit-72892083.html Thanks in advance!

You need at least 3 inches of lift in order to fit 33's. A 2" lift might cause some tire rubbing issue. Check out the rubicon express at 4wheelonline. I know they have 3" lift kits for your XJ.
