A few years ago my Peugot BA10/5 went kaflooey. It got stuck in fifth gear and when I pulled it out it was also full of water. I bought a used AX15 out of a 92-93 YJ and the pilot bearing was incorrect. I bought the '92-93 bearing and it wouldn't work either. We wound up rigging the original sized one up with a sort of sleeve, but it was a half-ass fix. It works fine, but I'm swapping the original (worn out) 258 out for a '90 258 with far less miles. I'm wondering if it requires a different bearing. Anyone know?

I wish I could help but it has been too many years since I swapped engines/trannies and such.

All I can do is give you a bump here.

Thanks Dave. I'll just have to wait and see what happens. Fortunately, it's not my daily driver, as it was every other time I had to swap major components. I will have a week off of work to do it, so I'm going to just take my time and not get worked up over anything.

Thanks for the reply!

EDIT: I just realized that I may have put this in the wrong section...Should this be in the general YJ section?
