    Thinking about getting a Liberty.

If I'm not mistaken, the earlier Libertys sat a little higher than the newer models. They lowered the vehicle because of roll over concerns. I think the '02~'04 sat higher than the '05 and up. Someone else want to chime in here on exactly what model year the change took place?

Post A Pic Of Your Jeep!! RIGHT NOW!

Hmmm.... where were you wheeling, private or public land?? Nobody checked the soggy lake bed before crossing?? Where you alone when you got stuck??

    Tire size.

Not trying to be a smart ass, but your not giving specifics. Reading is good, you get all the facts and different opinions... not probables. What do you consider beefy or giant fat ones? Specify sizes if you know. Without a lift, or trimming the fender flares, 35" tires will not fit on a JK...

Thank you!! It's an '06 Sport, with full skids, Toyo Open Country A/T tires and tow hooks. It's seen it's share of trails.

    Stop Hood Flutter....

Like I mentioned above, I prefer the zip ties. Google Daystar or Jeep parts, and you'll find all sorts of places to order your stuff. Also, the JK link I gave you has links to everything you would want to for your Jeep. It's not very considerate for me to list a bunch of companies that are not...

    Suspension lift

Again... check out the link in my previous post above, learn the basics and go with someone who has experience and knows the trail you will be doing. What size lift and tires depends on what you want and what you'll be using the Jeep for. Before you jump in and start spending $$$, get involved...

Where do Californains usually trail ride?

Get the Guide to Southern California Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails by Charles A. Wells. There are 75 trails ranging from easy to difficult. Your best bet would be to do a Google for Southern California 4x4 or Jeep clubs and hook up with them. You seem to be new at this and hanging with a...

    Stop Hood Flutter....

It works very well. Some people use Velcro One Wrap 12" x 1/2" strips, but I prefer the zip ties. The velco stretches too easy and curls in the middle. The zip tie will eventually break so I carry a few spares. Daystar also makes a stronger hood latch for about $24.00.

    A Simple JK Mod....

Just a standard plastic license plate mount with two studs on the right side. Pull your plate off, it'll take all of one minute to take out the two screws holding your plate on.

It depends on how high of a lift you have. Refer to the link in my other post to your lift question.

    Suspension lift

What will you be using it for? A quick answer to your question is a 2" lift is the lowest you can go... anything over 3" and you start running into other issues you'll have to take into consideration and modify other things. There are also leveling kits that will raise your Jeep about 1"...

    Yahoo... New Gears!!

No, but I wish. Shops don't have time to document an install unless they're doing it for a reason. I was lucky enough they let me go in the shop to snap a few pictures. Most shops don't allow customers in the working area. I have a strict break in period for the first 250 miles... no highway...

    KJ Owner from Florida

Welcome!! I was wondering when you'd make it over here. Yeah, people are always surprised to see Libertys on the trail. As you know, there are very capable Jeep, even stock. With some good driving and some spotting folks would be amazed where they can go. That's why a lot of the AZ LOST...

    North Cherry Creek Road

A friend and I did an exploratory run on Monday of a trail we "were" thinking about using for a club event this coming October. The trail was a solid 3.0 with a few short 3.25 sections and not doable in a stock height Liberty. My friend has a 1" lift and tall skinny tires on his Liberty. He...
