    Suggested Changes To The Rules....

Shag... if I may make another suggestion or two or three. We've been making too many rule changes as we went along this month AND it looks like some people haven't read the rules, don't have the required post count and may not own the Jeep entered. I suggest we CANX the JOTM contest for this...

    Suggested Changes To The Rules....

A good suggestion and I agree with 02Liberty that the limit should be only 2 pics per entry, even tho I was guilty of posting more before I removed my entry.

    New KM2's!

LOL... you're right about the loud. Just curious... what tires do you think fit the "die hard traditionalist" mold? The majority of TJ and JK Jeeps came from the factory with the goofy Goodyear street tires on base steel wheels. Those same street tires also come mounted on Rubicon wheels if...

What other vehicles have you owned?

Okay, here's what I've owned before the JK: Stateside: - 1959 VW Bug (used) - 1965 Ford Mustang (new) - 1963 Chevy II (used) - 1963 VW Bug (used) - 1969 Ford Mustang Mach I (new) In Japan (right hand drive): - 1964 Nissan Bluebird (used) - 1963 Datsun Fairlady SP310 (used) - 1964 Nissan...

What vehicle does this wheel fit?

The Jeep TJ will take a 15" wheel and it's pattern is 5 on 4.5 so the wheel shown above "should" fit a TJ. Now the tire, if I'm reading your numbers correctly, are 15 x 35. If the entire wheel and tire combo is to be used on a TJ, it will have to have one hell of a lift.

How can you second?? It hasn't received a first nomination yet.

    Suggested Changes To The Rules....

It's a waste nominating and renominating no matter how many members you have unless you're goal is to increase forum post counts. Just follow the KISS philosophy and keep it simple... - the first ten to post are in the contest (no nominating and renominating required) - the members vote...

    Suggested Changes To The Rules....

Shag, you're making this contest a tad more complicated than it needs to be. Examples: - 5. Pictures entered into JOTM must be quality pictures. Thumbnails, grainy or otherwise hard to see pictures will be sent back for better pictures. (We are not expecting 20 mega pixels, but no 1998...

Was much scarier looking from the bottom looking up.

All I'm saying is: check out the obstacle first so there will be no surprises, know your vehicle's limitation and your own driving skill before you try something. When you attempt something you should have a "reasonable" feeling you and your Jeep are up to the task. I have never attempted an...

By source... do you been OEM parts?? Welcome to the older vehicle club. Imagine what the CJ guys feel.

    New KM2's!

I've never been on the beach or on sand dunes, just soft sandy trails. Here's a pic taken on El Camino del Diablo (the Devil's Highway) a few miles north of the Arizona/Mexican border I ran last October. They worked well for me in the fine sand. The key is to air down to get a wider foot...

Was much scarier looking from the bottom looking up.

Not knowing is how you break things and get hurt. You should always know the capability of your ride and "have a good idea" on how it will act in any given situation.... :patriot:

Build Thread: Project 88 Grand Wagoneer

Gears... for what it's worth: I'm running 33" tires and just had Yukon 4.56 gears put on my JK. They're awesome!! Just the right amount of compromise between street and on the trail. If you're running 35's, you may want to consider going a little higher than 4.10's.

    New KM2's!

They wear great and mine have seen their fair share of off road driving... from dirt and sand, to rocks and good old Moab slick rock!! Mine are 285/75-16 KM2's (wanna be 33"). Measured at the center tread, they read 19/32 when new. Mine now have 14,700 miles on them and are at 16/32. They do...

? cj dash in a yj

If you're referring to my post above, chill out and don't take life so seriously. it's all in jest when it comes to square versus round headlights. You might want to read my post above again which in part states.... "Sorry, I can't offer any help other than my tongue and cheek comments."

Looks good!! The more miles on my KM2's the louder they get on the road, but nothing I can't live with.

    Tire size.

LOL... yeah, but JK'a are more comfortable with a better ride, more cargo room, have A/C and more ground clearance. The X/Sport models are more capable in stock form right out of the box when compared to the TJ, Yj and CJ. A Rubicon makes it even better. CJ's are fun, but my vote goes to the...

    Tire size.

I don't want to argue with you... just relating my experience with BFG M/T KM2 285/75-16 (32.83" x 11.22") tires. The following is taken from my post above: "I have BFG M/T KM2 tires... 285/75-16 on Eagle Alloy 16" rims with 4.25" of back space. Prior to my lift, once in awhile the rear tires...

Jeep of the Month is up and running!

Why not?? Many sites do and then members vote. Many sites also limit the numbers of entries each month to 10 vehicles.
