Yea I finally fixed the trans. The guy I let look at it just pressure tested the clutch packs and shimmed it to get the clearances a little tighter. Put it in and still no reverse. So I pulled the valve body and found a torn gasket. Installed a different brand shift kit and everything now...

Been busy today. I pulled the hub off, removed the studs that hold the spindles on. I countersunk the bolts on the spindles so I could flip the front hubs. Also installed new studs in the hubs. Put new knuckle boots on and debraked the rear axle. this is what I started with countersunk bolts...

I don't know if I cut a seal lip or if it is a valve body problem. I'm having someone else look at it since I'm tired of pulling it. It was my first attempt at an automatic. ( I build semi truck gear boxes for a living)

Put the trans back in and now for some reason I have no reverse:pp: So I pulled it back out............AGAIN.......... and since my shop has no walls or roof, I have not done anything because of the weather.

Took a shortcut and just installed a new crank, bearings,timing set and high volume oil pump and stuffed it back in the heep. No rattles or unusual noises. Even after it took a drink or two! Now it idles at around 60 psi hot and as soon as the rpms come up it pegs the stock gauge. I'm happy...

Pulled the pan this weekend. And found the mains were actually in pretty good shape. But, the rod bearing had a lot of wear. Some actually had some slack! Not but around .010 though. The crank was still smooth. So I'm gonna pull the engine and mic it to see if I can just put in new bearings...
