new comer here i need some GC help

hey guys new here first post and i have a 2000 jeep grand C laredo with the stock plastic chrome grill that has gotten ugly over the years and doesnt even look good no more so my truck is black and i would like to remove the grill clean it up prep and rattle can it black with all the extra goodies

i tried removing it earlier removed all the screws and as am pulling it off i see that the bumper wants to come off with it too . do i need to remove the whole bumper just so i can reach the back clips that are on the grill ?? thanks in advance

did you look to see if there were any tabs on it? I know on my XJ there are tabs on the side of the center of the grille piece that slip under the headlight bezels. There may be something tied in under the bumper.

shop manual says it pays .2 hrs. with bumper cover removed, so yes, you will probably have to pull the cover off as well, pretty common nowdays.

yes it does have tabs on top and on bottom the only way to acces the bottom is by pulling the cover of so i guess i got to do that just wanted to check here first ..
has any one were done this before ?

according to your link he has to "break off" the 2 lower studs that hold it to the cover, if he does this he will not be able to reattach it, they must be talking about replacing it, not reusing it as he wants to.
