Sup fellas, got my Smittybilt SRCs in yesterday and got them put on. I'd read a few horror stories about the install, but with some coercion they went on fine. Fit was good and I really like the look. Can finally check a mod off the list. Here are some pics...

Lookin good Will, that thing is too pretty, you need to bring it to the park for some "ozark pinstripes".

I really do need to head over there. I've got some delta pinstripes already, but am always looking to add to the collection. Right now I'd have little mans syndrome. Once I get my mod list complete, I'll whore out Rubi statewide!

So where is this mod list

Well, next up will be a superchips flashpaq. These first two are more prerequisite mods to the others. After that, Teraflex 2.5" coil kit (one for the unlimiteds so Ill get closer to 3"), 35" Cooper STTs, 17x8 Pro Comp 7005s, Rugged Ridge XHD bumpers all around, Smittybilt XRC8 winch.

I want to get some form of a soft top, but I havent really decided there yet. I like the Trektops, thought about a full regular one or a bikini, tonneau, duster combo. Just not sure.

With 35's, I'd do gears before tossing $$$ away on the flashpaq.

if its a stick you can get away with the stock gearing, I'm still 4:10's on 38"s
not ideal but it works untill something breaks, thats what I'm waiting on anyway, got a pair of 60's ready to build to go under mine

and you don't need all that stuff for superlift, they have trails from mild to wild.

Yeah, gears will come eventually, but I think Ill get by alright without them for now. The 4.10s should be ok. The Coopers are a smallish 35.

Mud... they really look good, but be careful!!

There's been some posts on another board that they tend to dent the sheet metal on the Jeep. I can't find the link, but it was on a yellow JK and had pics of the damage just behind where the yellow Smittybilt sticker is. I saw the thread on the JK forum where you also posted the pics of your new sliders.

I made a post about it here last night, with a link to the other board to give you a heads up, but it's disappeared. I don't know if I clicked out of it before it was posted, or if it was deleted. Now I can't find the link on the other forum to use it on this re-post. I hate search buttons!!

EDIT: Found it, here's the link to the thread.... Smittybilt SRC Rocker Guards beware!

FYIW... everyone to his own opinion, but I've always been leery of Smittybilt. Their products sell less for a reason.

Yeah, I saw that post/posts. I'm thinking of adding a third mounting point in the center. It'd be fairly easy to do and strengthen them alot. I dont know why Smittybilt doesnt just do that from the factory.

And you are correct, Smittybilt seems to have alot of installation issues of parts not fitting correctly and whatnot. I rolled the dice as I just preferred the looks of these so much and lucked out in that they fit ok.

Plus, I wasnt that concerned over the strength issue. As my username implies, I dont do any rock crawling or anything like that. Granted the chance still exists out on the trail for something to happen, but hopefully Ill be ok for now.
