need some mechanical advice

my 2000 jeep grand cherokee while driving in the street at 35 mph just decided to turn off on me so i pulled over to the curve turn on my hazards and try to start it up and it would crank and not start then i relialize i have no oil presure and the check gauges light turns on and the chime starts chiming so my guess is my oil pump went bad and the computer is not letting the truck start or idk but i googled it and i read that is somewhat common for oil pumps to go bad on grand cherokee ? any help or advice would greatly be appreciated
