Hello all!

Just registered for the site no more than 5 mins prior to posting, surfed for others but this was the best..BY FAR

When i came back from Iraq the first thing i did was go and buy a Jeep! I baught a new 2010 Jeep Liberty Sport edition. it has the mid level tires, full size spare, ect. ect., but it doesnt have side steps OR nice big tires.

That being said the first two things i want to do are add those things!

The side steps that come from the factory are kinda weird looking to me, they seem to be a lot lowere than the side of the vehicle, lowering the ground clerance when cresting a hill or what have you. That i dont like, so i have been looking and found a couple decent ones but none that truly fit the billet. Id like to rip the grey plastic off the side and replace it with steps that hug the side of the vehicle and dont detract from the clerance i have with the stock tires.

And the tires, the storck tires are Wrangler tires...cant remember what kind but i know they are wrangler tires. They seem nice..but they dont look nice. My average fuel mileage is 15mpg so at this point im not concerned with a little lower fuel economy..i just want something with a little more height ( i refer to it as a poor mans lift ) and a little more agressive tread that works for both street and off street driving. Im an average driver and the jeep is my every day vehicle to i need a street ready tire with some balls!

ill get and post a pic of the new Jeep here soon, but would love to read and mabey even see some of the suggestions from the Jeep community!

Welcome to the site and Jeep ownership!
Once you take it off road you will be ruined for life, it will be all you can think about, awake or dreaming. It is an addiction for most you can never get away from, there are several here who know the liberty well, Daspes for one, that can point you in the right direction & save you the trial & error problems.

Hi Matt. Congrats on your new jeep. Welcome back from Irac and thanks for your service.

SuperD is right. As he says "now that you are now ruined for life" there are people here that can help with your affliction..........haha

i live in Newark Delaware

Ive dabbled with the off road in the military HMMWV and L_O_V_E_D it! there's nothing better than being given a vehicle valued close to a million dollars and being told "go hit something and sink this thing". Needless to say i hit several things and eventually found the water fording tank and managed to hit it at 20mph...annihilated the fan blades but had a hell of a time doing it! good training.

So i am already hooked, though a little apprehensive with the stock equip on the new jeep. Dont really want to treat it like the HMMWV and intentionally destroy it!

wooow thanks! thats some goos looking gear.

But youve aroused my curiosity even more!

Im a super NOOB when it comes to this. what all would i need? im not looking to make an entirely off roader, but a semi street and semi off vic. I see a lot of seperate parts there and it kind of makes me think i need a bit more expertice before i drive head long into a little lift.
