I like being a little different so that is why I have a KJ. A Cherokee would be my other choice. The last thing I would want is a Wrangler. Actually, I wouldn't have one. It seems everyone with a Jeep has a Wrangler. I just finished going to a 5 day Jeep event in Daytona Beach, FL called Jeep Beach. There was 584 Jeeps registered for the event. Counting mine there was a total of 3 Liberty's there. Also a few Cherokees. The rest were Wranglers.

I'm not bashing Wranglers by any means. If you want after market support for a Jeep, Wrangler is the way to go. Tons of stuff.

BTW, last year Jeep Beach had 300 Jeeps so going to 584 the next year ain't bad at all! They were trying for 600. Next year, my guess is about 900 will be there. In no time at all it will be the largest Jeep only event in the eastern half of the country. Then the whole country.

I live in Saint Augustine, the oldest European settlement in the country, founded in 1565. From day 1 it has been here, never abandoned. The first Thanksgiving was held here also. A lot of the "firsts" and "oldest" are not mentioned in school books because Saint Augustine was founded by the Spanish and not the English.

Welcome!! I was wondering when you'd make it over here.

Yeah, people are always surprised to see Libertys on the trail. As you know, there are very capable Jeep, even stock. With some good driving and some spotting folks would be amazed where they can go. That's why a lot of the AZ LOST JEEPS crew sport a "got groceries?" decal on their back window.

LOL... be nice and stop thumping your nose at Wranglers!!!

I laughed reading your first post, man. I wasn't "allowed" to join one offroad club because I didn't "own a real Jeep." They refused a guy who has one of the nastiest DubJays I've ever seen, too.

That made me start looking into Liberties, because like most Jeep people I overlooked them when they first came out, except to steal the rear disc setup from the Chryco 8.25 for my Cherokee. The more I look at one, the more I kinda want to buy one with front end damage and homebrew a long-arm setup.

It goes back to 2002 when the Liberty first came out. The other Jeep owners said that it was just for getting groceries.

Terry

Ha ha, I like how you guys are embracing the groceries bit.

I don't put down Wranglers. I just don't want to be like the majority is all. We all have Jeeps and that is what counts.:patriot:
