Default PLEASE... Always Wear Your Seat Belt!!
Some of you may remember the pic below that I posted recently of my friend (and President of our club, AZ LOST JEEPS) and his SFA Liberty he just built a few months ago. I took the pic below on a recent run we made....

I just found out he was in a serious accident and totaled his Jeep.

He was on his way to Houston, TX for six months for his job when it happened. PLEASE wear your seat belt any time you are in a vehicle.

He hit a mule deer which got stuck under the front end of the Jeep, and then rolled a couple of times landing right side up. He does not remember the accident, but he is okay. He walked away from it, called 911 and is just shaken up with a few cuts and bruises.

Once again... PLEASE ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SEAT BELT!! It saved his life.....

glad he's allright, vehicle did it's job absorbing the impacts like it was designed to do, he was lucky to walk away from that.
hope he had appraised value insurance on that, looked like a very sweet rig, most insurance companies wont cover all the extra stuff we do to our vehicles without an appraisal, they are just insuring the base vehicle, not all your bling, so it's worth checking with your agent before you are in this situation!
trust me I know, I deal with them every day!
I run a body shop.

SUPERD.... it was a very sweet rig, here is a pic of inside looking back over the right shoulder area....

You are 100% correct about the insurance. All companies are different as to how much they will cover for larger tires/wheels and other mods without buying extra coverage. It's best to call them and pay a little more for the extra coverage. I don't know if my friend did that or not... I hope so because he had over $10K invested in the SFA custom made build.

Holy pucker factor of 10, Batman. Glad he's okay, dude. Sad about the rig, but better a mule deer than a Peterbilt...

Will they give him a chance to buy it back? It looks like some of the components are salvageable to a point, and the insurance might pay for an early liberty to start over with.

I happened to see it over on LOST. Mostly when I go over there I am in the NE section because of the guys I wheel with. For some reason that thread caught my eye. He is real lucky to have not been seriously injured or worse. I always wear my seatbelt as it's second nature.

For now, nothing. He was driving to Houston for a 180 day TDY when the accident happened. He has several other vehicles, including a CJ5.
