Default HID's
Anybody have HID's on their vehicles? I have 2 sets on my 2002 GMC Sierra and have been getting radio interference. Tried grounding the ballasts (didn't work), double wrapping the ballasts in aluminum foil (worked some) and snap on ferrite chokes from Radioshack (works). Still is not perfect, but better.

Anybody else have this problem and how do I fix it?

Apparently its common. It wasn't a big deal where we used to live in the country, but we moved farther from the city and it got worse. Mainly my highs, although it could be both together since I have it wired where my highs and lows are on at the same time when I select the highs.

I got the ebay specials. Just looking at what I can do to reduce the static. Like I said before, I don't have any problems in the city.

Supposedly, the digital slim ballasts don't have this problem.

I have the slim ballest from DDMTuning. I've never had a problem. It could just be your ballest

How are HIDs? I see them on other cars and they are bright. Anyone get complaints about it or someone flashing you thinking you have your brights on?

Hids are amazing. Your output is very much determined by your housin and bulbs length/focal point. So your performance will depend on what you've got. I love them and other than the fogs in my 08 silverado, I don't get any complaints.

They are awesome. I have only been flashed once, but that was because my headlights were poorly aimed at the time. If you aim them properly, you will have no problems.

I think my refractor housing isn't the best, so I might get Denali headlights with projectors. Fogs are really bright anyway to oncoming traffic. Especially on the Chevy's. Have you done the all on headlight mod yet? It is amazing and cheap. I have it done to 2 of my Chevy's and need to do the other one.

Absolutely. I do that on all my installs also.
